153 The Story is a nonprofit community that helps discover the stories God is writing in individual lives—and equips the next generation to live as faithful protagonists in those stories.
Why we exist
More than programs. A community shaping a shared story.
We serve missionary kids growing up across cultures, the next generation being formed within American society, and young people preparing to carry faith and responsibility into the future. Through art, education, and media, we help them grow in faith, recognize the gifts and stories God has entrusted to them, and develop the confidence to contribute with purpose.
153 The Story is not simply an organization that delivers programs. We are a community participating in the story God is continuing through the next generation—honoring each person, cultivating healthy identity, and opening pathways for learning, relationship, creative expression, and meaningful opportunity.
Art holds a distinctive place in this work. It reaches across language and culture to connect human hearts. Through exhibitions and cultural projects, we bring the voices of missionary kids and the next generation into public view, while encouraging the dreams and vision taking shape within them.

153 The Story is a California nonprofit corporation (EIN 41-4435509) and an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity under section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi), with exemption effective February 23, 2026.
